The number of injured individuals stands at 16,740, according to Rodriguez’s social media update. Authorities have established 106 temporary camps to accommodate 20,857 affected individuals, with over 63,000 personnel engaged in search and rescue efforts.
Venezuela has experienced 1,284 aftershocks following the twin earthquakes that occurred three weeks ago. Hector Rodriguez, the vice president for social affairs, reported that 18,437 earthquake-affected people have been relocated to shelters. La Guaira, the state most impacted by the quakes, houses 10,981 individuals in shelters, with Caracas and the state of Miranda hosting 6,133 and 1,323 people, respectively.
The devastating magnitude 7.2 and 7.5 earthquakes in central Venezuela have resulted in 4,118 fatalities and 16,740 injuries, according to the latest official update. Acting President Delcy Rodriguez expressed gratitude for the humanitarian aid extended by 28 countries to assist the quake victims in Venezuela. She emphasized the importance of international support in aiding the recovery and reconstruction efforts in the affected regions.
