The death toll from the explosion at a firecracker factory in Madhya Pradesh’s Dewas district has now reached five, with two more critically injured workers succumbing to their injuries. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav rushed from New Delhi to Indore to visit the hospitals where the injured were being treated. He assured the victims and their families of the government’s full support and instructed medical staff to provide the best possible care to all those injured in the tragic incident.
The factory owner, Anil Malviya, has been arrested, and the factory has been sealed following the blast. Additionally, the National Security Act (NSA) has been invoked against Malviya, and cases are being prepared against three contractors associated with the factory for alleged safety violations under the Explosives Rules. Ujjain Divisional Commissioner Ashish Singh has initiated a magisterial inquiry to determine the cause of the explosion and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
Deputy Chief Minister Jagdish Devda visited the blast site to assess the situation and met with the injured workers at local hospitals. He emphasized the government’s commitment to supporting the affected families and providing necessary medical assistance. Devda also pledged that strict action would be taken against any individuals found negligent in the investigation. The incident has highlighted concerns regarding safety practices in firecracker manufacturing units in Madhya Pradesh, prompting increased inspections and enforcement of safety regulations by the district administration.
