Police in Bhopal discovered the decomposed body of an unidentified woman inside a tin box in a septic tank at a residential colony under the Nishatpura police station. The body, believed to have been in the tank for three to four days, was found after locals noticed the box floating in the water. The woman’s identity remains unknown.
Authorities suspect that the crime might have occurred elsewhere before the body was disposed of in the septic tank. The police are working to identify the deceased woman, as residents in the area could not recognize her. The body has been sent for a post-mortem examination at Hamidia Hospital, and an investigation is ongoing.
The police are approaching the case from all angles, including checking nearby residents and reviewing CCTV footage. The incident took place in the Housing Board Colony, a densely populated area in Bhopal, close to Irani Dera, known for criminal activities. Earlier, a significant police operation in the same area led to the detention of over 40 individuals related to criminal cases from various states.
