Star Indian all-rounder Deepti Sharma made history by becoming the highest wicket-taker in women’s international cricket during India’s ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 Group A match against Australia at Lord’s Cricket Ground. Deepti surpassed Jhulan Goswami’s record of 355 wickets by dismissing Australian player Beth Mooney.
Deepti achieved this milestone with a full delivery that forced Mooney to mistime her shot, resulting in a catch by Radha Yadav. This wicket marked Deepti’s 356th in her international career, across all three formats, in her 278th appearance for India.
Deepti’s impressive tally includes 22 Test wickets, 166 One-Day International wickets, and 168 T20 International wickets. She had previously showcased her talent with a five-wicket haul against Pakistan in the same tournament. With this achievement, Deepti now leads as the highest wicket-taker in women’s international cricket.
Deepti’s feat surpasses Jhulan Goswami’s record, who retired with 355 wickets. Following Deepti on the list are Ellyse Perry, Katherine Sciver-Brunt, Sophie Ecclestone, and Shabnim Ismail, ranking among the top wicket-takers in women’s international cricket.
