Indian cricketer Deepti Sharma, following the end of the Indian team’s journey in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup, visited Wimbledon, the renowned Grand Slam event, to witness top tennis players in action at the All-England Club in London. Deepti, a prominent all-rounder who performed well in the T20 World Cup until India’s exit in the league stage against Australia, received a warm welcome on her first visit to Wimbledon by the All-England Club.
Deepti is not the only Indian cricketer to grace Wimbledon recently. Shikhar Dhawan, former Indian opener, was also spotted at the Centre Court at the All-England Club a day earlier. Wimbledon, a popular destination for celebrities, attracts numerous visitors annually to watch elite tennis players compete in the prestigious tournament.
The Ladies’ Singles semifinals at Wimbledon witnessed notable victories by players like Alexandra Eala, Marie Bouzkova, and Emma Navarro. Eala from the Philippines secured a remarkable comeback win over Maya Joint to advance to the third round, displaying her prowess on the court. Bouzkova, the No. 21 seed, overcame an early setback to defeat Grant and progress to the third round for the third time at Wimbledon. Navarro, after defeating Oksana Selekhmeteva, also advanced to the third round, continuing her consistent performance at the All England Club over the years.
