Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has expressed worry about the ongoing protests in the national capital, labeling them as an effort by a few Opposition leaders to misguide the youth with what he calls ‘manufactured anger’. Singh criticized the Opposition for using students as ‘political tools’ to advance their own political motives.
This rebuke from Singh follows the Congress party, led by Rahul Gandhi, surrounding the Prime Minister’s residence in an unprecedented move and subsequently being removed by the Delhi Police. Singh remarked that the manufactured sense of anger by some opposition leaders is an unsuccessful attempt to confuse and mislead the public, especially the youth.
Singh reiterated the government’s commitment to listening to and addressing students’ needs, ensuring that no injustice is done to any individual, particularly students and youth. He also criticized the Opposition for causing repeated disruptions in Parliament, suggesting that they prefer creating a spectacle rather than resolving issues through debate in the House.
Singh emphasized that Parliament is the appropriate platform in a democracy and urged the Opposition to avoid disruptive behavior and instead engage in discussions and debates on public interest matters within the House. He urged the Opposition to voice their concerns in Parliament and not disrupt the ongoing Monsoon Session.
