A delegation from Mutahida Majlis-e-Ulema (MMU) of Kashmir, led by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, visited the Iranian ambassador in New Delhi to express condolences for the loss of Iranian supreme leader Ayatullah Ali Khameini and others in the conflict. The delegation, including prominent members like Mufti Nasir-ul-Islam and Aga Syed Hassan Al-Mosvi, conveyed heartfelt sympathies and solidarity to Iran during these challenging times.
The delegation emphasized the deep-rooted cultural and historical ties between Kashmir and Iran, referring to Kashmir as ‘Iran-e-Sagheer’ (Little Iran) due to the enduring connections between the two regions. They condemned the ongoing war on Iran by Israel and the United States, advocating for diplomatic solutions to restore peace and stability. The MMU stressed the importance of unity, resilience, and collective prayers for peace in the face of such adversities.
Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah also spoke out against the unjust war on Iran in the legislative Assembly, urging Prime Minister Narendra Modi to intervene and end the conflict for the greater good of humanity. Despite opposition from some members, Abdullah condemned the violence and expressed condolences for the loss of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and others affected by the crisis.
