New Delhi, Aug 4 (IANS) After Delhi Lieutenant Governor T.S. Sandhu’s direction to open Lifetime Membership for DDA Dwarka Golf Course, as many as 856 applicants have completed their registration within 11 days of the start of the process, a DDA official said on Tuesday.

Of the 856 applications received so far, 636 applications have been received under the Non-Government Category against 600 memberships available, making the category oversubscribed, the DDA said in a statement.

The Government Category has also received an encouraging response, with 220 applications received against 250 memberships, and is close to full subscription, it said.

The Lifetime Membership fee is Rs 3.50 lakh for the Government Category and Rs 7.50 lakh for the Non-Government Category. Besides, three-Year Membership is available at Rs 1.20 lakh for the Government Category and Rs 2.50 lakh for the Non-Government Category, while the five-Year Membership fee is Rs 1.80 lakh and Rs 4.50 lakh, respectively.

As the registration window will remain open for two months from July 21, both categories are likely to be oversubscribed by the close of the registration period, the DDA said.

The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) is offering a total of 850 Lifetime Memberships, comprising 600 memberships under the Non-Government Category and 250 memberships under the Government Category.

In addition, applicants may also opt for three-Year and five-Year tenure memberships, providing greater flexibility to golfers with different requirements, said the statement.

Interested applicants can continue to apply online by paying a non-refundable registration fee of Rs 2,500. Following scrutiny of applications, successful applicants will be required to deposit the applicable membership fee online within 30 days of issuance of the offer of membership, it said.

In categories where the number of eligible applications exceeds the memberships available, allotment will be carried out through a fully computerised draw of lots after the registration period closes, ensuring a transparent, fair and impartial selection process.

The DDA advised applicants to submit only one application, as multiple applications by the same applicant shall be liable for rejection.
