The Delhi Assembly Secretariat has requested the Punjab government to provide the forensic report on a video involving AAP leader Atishi by January 22. This request follows the discovery that the video was allegedly doctored, as mentioned in a press statement from the Jalandhar Commissionerate of Police.
Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta hinted at the possibility of a special session to address this issue. He emphasized the importance of upholding democratic accountability and the dignity of the Delhi Legislative Assembly. The Committee on Privileges has already initiated proceedings regarding the matter, issuing a notice to Atishi to respond by January 19.
Gupta highlighted that despite opportunities given to Atishi to clarify her position during the House proceedings on January 6, no clarification was provided. This led to disruptions and the adjournment of proceedings due to the lack of resolution.
