Delhi Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta recently attended a religious event organized by Shri Digambar Jain Mahasabha in Rohini, advocating for non-violence and compassion towards all beings. Gupta highlighted the importance of practicing compassion towards all creatures, aligning with the eternal principles of Lord Mahavir. The event, held on Mahavir Jayanti, focused on promoting global peace and spiritual introspection.

Gupta, during the ceremony, received blessings from revered Jain saints and was honored for his dedicated service to the citizens of Delhi. He emphasized the relevance of Mahavir Jayanti as a divine call for self-reflection and spiritual growth. Reflecting on the life of Lord Mahavir, Gupta underscored the significance of conquering one’s mind over external conflicts, such as anger, greed, and ego.

The Speaker redefined the concept of non-violence, stating that it symbolizes courage rather than cowardice. Gupta also stressed the principle of Anekantavada, highlighting the importance of embracing diverse viewpoints for societal healing. Additionally, he discussed Aparigraha, emphasizing Mahavir’s teachings on non-attachment and sustainable living practices to address contemporary global challenges.

Gupta urged the citizens of Delhi to embody Mahavir’s principles beyond mere celebrations, fostering a culture of compassion and harmony. Pledging to disseminate Lord Mahavir’s ideals throughout the capital, he reiterated his commitment to promoting compassion and spiritual values among the community. The event concluded with ceremonial rituals and community interactions, reinforcing Gupta’s dedication to Delhi’s welfare and spiritual heritage.
