Delhi Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta announced that the Winter Session of the House is set to take place from January 5 to 8. The session will commence with an address by Lieutenant Governor V.K. Saxena.
Preparations are in progress to ensure a smooth and orderly conduct of the proceedings during the Fourth Session of the Eighth Legislative Assembly of the National Capital Territory of Delhi. The Lieutenant Governor has already issued the summoning order for the upcoming session.
In the summoning order, the Lieutenant Governor invoked the powers vested in him by the Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi Act, 1991, to convene the Winter Session on January 5, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. in the Assembly Hall, Old Secretariat, Delhi-110054.
Speaker Gupta, briefing the media about the forthcoming Assembly session, emphasized the Secretariat’s efforts to facilitate a disciplined and well-organized four-day session. The aim is to enable the House to efficiently address its legislative and procedural agenda. Several crucial papers are slated to be presented during this session, with necessary arrangements already put in place.
