Delhi’s Chief Electoral Officer, Ashok Kumar, announced the commencement of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in the national capital starting June 30. Kumar emphasized the active involvement of political parties at every stage of the process to maintain transparency. Booth Level Agents, appointed by recognized political parties, play a crucial role during the electoral process.
The SIR process, as outlined by Kumar, involves Booth Level Officers visiting households to distribute enumeration forms to voters. Voters can fill and submit these forms to the officers. In cases where voters are unavailable during the visits, BLOs will make up to three attempts before leaving the form at the voter’s residence. Additionally, voters have the option to download and submit the form online.
Kumar highlighted that BLOs can counter sign on physically submitted forms as an acknowledgment of the information provided by voters. To assist voters, details of BLOs will be provided on the enumeration form for immediate contact and clarification. Furthermore, instructional videos have been created to guide voters on various aspects, including linking to family members in case of migration and addressing concerns of migrant women.
