The Delhi BJP criticized AAP leaders for their comments on the recent petrol price increase, accusing them of misleading the public about the global impact of the Gulf conflict on oil prices. Delhi BJP spokesperson Shankar Kapoor emphasized that even a small rise in petrol and diesel rates affects ordinary citizens, attributing the increase to the surge in international oil prices managed by the Indian government to minimize the impact. Kapoor highlighted the lack of international understanding among AAP leaders, pointing out that petrol prices in New York and Moscow are significantly higher than in India.
Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva commended Delhi High Court Judge Swarna Kanta Sharma’s decision to recuse herself from a liquor scam case following a defamation suit against former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. Sachdeva praised the judge’s ethical conduct in the face of personal attacks by Kejriwal and AAP members on social media and public platforms. He noted that Justice Sharma’s withdrawal from the case after filing a contempt suit against Kejriwal was essential to uphold judicial integrity.
Sachdeva criticized Kejriwal for celebrating the judge’s recusal as a victory, cautioning that facing contempt charges in addition to the corruption case would be a greater humiliation. He condemned Kejriwal’s actions as disrespectful to the judiciary and the constitutional principle of “Satyamev Jayate.” Sachdeva underscored the importance of maintaining decorum in court proceedings and refraining from undermining the judicial process with unwarranted attacks.
