Delhi BJP legislator Harish Khurana has urged Chief Minister Rekha Gupta to release a white paper on ration distribution over the past 10 years. Khurana claims this is necessary to expose irregularities under the previous Arvind Kejriwal government.
Khurana criticized the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) for faulting the ongoing ration card verification drive. He accused the Opposition party of running a decade-long racket that deprived genuine beneficiaries of their entitlements.
The Moti Nagar legislator dismissed AAP’s allegations as a deliberate attempt to mislead the public. He highlighted that ration cards were issued to ineligible families between 2015 and 2024.
Khurana demanded transparency from AAP leaders regarding the issuance of ration cards to Rohingya and Bangladeshi infiltrators during their party’s tenure. He emphasized the need to address the indiscriminate issuance of ration cards during AAP’s rule.
Official data cited by the BJP MLA revealed that 9,22,766 applications for ration cards were submitted in Delhi between 2014 and 2024. Khurana emphasized the need for meaningful verification in the ration card system to prevent irregularities.
