Delhi BJP President, Harsh Malhotra, highlighted the minimal waterlogging in Delhi following the recent heavy monsoon rains. He praised the desilting efforts led by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and various civic agencies for ensuring a smooth experience for Delhiites during the first monsoon showers. Despite continuous rainfall, normal life in the city remained unaffected by waterlogging, marking a significant improvement from past years.
Malhotra commended the collaborative desilting work carried out by the Delhi Jal Board, Public Works Department (PWD), and Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) under Chief Minister Rekha Gupta’s guidance. This proactive approach in cleaning drains and sewer lines across the city, along with the installation of pumps at key locations, prepared Delhi well to handle heavy rainfall. Residents were able to enjoy the monsoon season without the usual hardships of waterlogging.
The Delhi BJP President emphasized that the government’s efforts to identify and address waterlogging points and vulnerable locations, along with the installation of mobile pumps, were crucial in mitigating the impact of the monsoon rains. Despite receiving significant rainfall, the state government effectively managed waterlogging on major roads like Ring Road, ensuring normal life continued smoothly. While some issues were reported in specific areas, Malhotra attributed them to the negligence of local AAP representatives.
