Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva criticized the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) following the arrest of East Delhi AAP leader Deepak Singla in connection with a major bank scam. Sachdeva highlighted the emergence of AAP leaders’ involvement in activities like buying properties with black money, tax evasion, and bank loan frauds, shedding light on a different aspect of the party’s conduct. The case involving Singla’s bank loans worth hundreds of crores and the alleged misuse of funds has left Delhi residents astonished.
The BJP leader pointed out that this is not an isolated incident, citing previous instances of financial misconduct by AAP members like former Delhi Minister Satyendar Jain and Punjab Minister Sanjeev Arora. Delhi BJP Media Head Praveen Shankar Kapoor expressed concerns that the AAP seems to be harboring economic offenders within its ranks. Kapoor highlighted past controversies involving fake companies and bribery-money operations allegedly linked to Jain, which were initially dismissed by Kejriwal as political conspiracies.
Kapoor further emphasized that despite earlier arrests of AAP leaders in bribery scandals, the party continued to dismiss them as politically motivated cases. The recent cases involving Arora and Singla, accused of tax evasion and bank scams, have brought a new dimension of corruption to public attention. The Delhi BJP President raised questions about the integrity of leaders contesting elections while being embroiled in bank loan frauds and other financial irregularities.
Sachdeva expressed hope that Kejriwal, who previously shielded Satyendar Jain from financial scam allegations, would take action against Arora and Singla. The unfolding events have cast a shadow on AAP’s credibility, with concerns growing over the party’s association with individuals facing serious financial allegations.
