Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva has lauded the Delhi Budget 2026–27, titled “Sarvajan Hitay, Sarvajan Sukhay,” presented by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta in the State Assembly. This budget, inspired by Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya’s Antyodaya principle and PM Narendra Modi’s holistic development policy, aims to benefit all sections of society. With a record budget of Rs 1.03 lakh crore, it marks the largest in Delhi’s history, with 74% of the expenditure covered by the state government’s revenue, ensuring self-reliance.
The BJP government’s budget focuses on developing Delhi, allocating over 31% (Rs 32,360 crore) towards enhancing education and health services. Emphasizing transport and urban development, 23.32% of the budget estimate has been earmarked for these sectors, aligning with PM Modi’s vision for Delhi 2047. Additionally, Rs 1,777 crore has been allocated for agricultural sector maintenance and urbanizing villages, along with Rs 10,537 crore for social security measures.
In a bid to support the underprivileged, the budget includes provisions like allocating Rs 260 crore for providing gas cylinders to needy families and Rs 450 crore for free bus travel for women and transgender individuals. This compassionate approach reflects the government’s commitment to welfare. Sachdeva expressed confidence that this second budget under the Rekha Gupta government will propel Delhi towards a brighter future, building upon the successes of its first year in office.
