Delhi BJP General Secretary and MP Yogendra Chandolia has urged the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leadership to clarify the whereabouts of Leader of Opposition in the Delhi Assembly, Atishi, following her controversial remarks. Chandolia highlighted that despite claims by AAP leaders that Atishi did not disrespect Sikh Gurus, she has been absent from public view and media interactions since January 6.
Chandolia raised concerns over the swift actions taken by AAP leadership, including registering an FIR in Punjab within hours of objections raised by AAP MLAs in the Delhi Assembly. He questioned the rationale behind not filing an FIR in Delhi if there were objections to the incident. Chandolia also criticized AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal and Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann for alleged disrespect towards Sikh Gurus.
New Delhi BJP MP Bansuri Swaraj emphasized the need for an investigation into Atishi’s remarks within the legal framework of the Assembly. Swaraj criticized the alleged misuse of Punjab Police to investigate a matter outside its jurisdiction in defense of Atishi. She accused AAP of using government resources to stifle dissent while displaying arrogance in addressing their own errors.
