Delhi BJP spokesperson Praveen Shankar Kapoor criticized Aam Aadmi Party Convenor Arvind Kejriwal for suspending three women Councillors, alleging his opposition to women’s empowerment. Kapoor highlighted that one of the affected AAP Councillors is Sultana Abad, emphasizing Kejriwal’s purported history of being ‘anti-women.’ He mentioned Kejriwal’s expulsion of Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal from the party for raising queries, along with similar actions against other members like Kiran Bedi, Shazia Ilmi, and Richa Pandey for asserting their rights and opinions.
Kejriwal’s decision to expel three Councillors, including Sultana Abad, allegedly stemmed from their inquiries about the Municipal Corporation’s alleged dysfunction during AAP’s governance from 2022 to 2025. Kapoor accused Kejriwal and AAP Delhi convenor Saurabh Bhardwaj of prioritizing their wards’ development over addressing political concerns. Additionally, Kapoor highlighted Abad’s dissenting voice, claiming she criticized Kejriwal and Bharadwaj for neglecting the Municipal Corporation’s responsibilities.
The Delhi BJP spokesperson also mentioned the participation of party leaders in the Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath organized by Shri Jagannath Temple at Thyagraj Nagar. Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and BJP MP Bansuri Swaraj were noted to have joined the event, with Singh offering prayers for prosperity, peace, progress, and the nation’s well-being. Singh emphasized the cultural significance of the Rath Yatra, praising it as a representation of India’s enduring heritage, social cohesion, and public welfare spirit.
