Delhi Capitals captain Jemimah Rodrigues commended Sneh Rana and Niki Prasad for their composed performance in a tense match against Gujarat Giants at Vadodara’s Kotambi Stadium. Despite a spirited effort, the Capitals fell just three runs short of the target, with Sophie Devine securing a thrilling three-run win for the Giants in the final over. A crucial partnership of 70 runs between Rana and Prasad revived hopes for Delhi, but Devine’s skillful bowling ensured the Giants’ victory.

Rodrigues expressed confidence in her team’s batting lineup, highlighting Rana and Prasad’s fearless play that kept the chase alive. Although disappointed with the result, she praised their brilliant performance. The Capitals’ innings saw a strong start with Shafali Verma’s aggressive batting, but wickets fell in quick succession, leading to a challenging situation for Delhi.

Reflecting on the loss, Rodrigues acknowledged the importance of partnerships and lamented the loss of wickets in clusters during the crucial moments of the game. Despite a commendable bowling effort earlier, Delhi struggled to maintain momentum in their chase. Looking ahead, the Capitals are gearing up for a crucial match against UP Warriorz, emphasizing the need to regroup and fight back in the tournament.
