Seam-bowling all-rounder Marizanne Kapp from Delhi Capitals acknowledged the team’s fluctuating performance in the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2026 but sees a silver lining in the challenging path to the final. This season marks DC’s fourth WPL final appearance, facing RCB at the BCA Stadium after narrowly defeating Gujarat Giants in the Eliminator. Kapp reflected on the team’s journey, stating that this year’s struggles might pave the way for a more favorable outcome in the final.

Kapp expressed gratitude for the team’s hard work, emphasizing the difference in their approach this season compared to previous years. She highlighted the team’s resilience and effort, contrasting it with past seasons where success seemed more effortless. Despite not hitting their peak performance yet, Kapp remains hopeful and credits the team’s determination for reaching the final.

Praising Jemimah Rodrigues’ leadership qualities, Kapp commended the young player’s growth and adaptability throughout the tournament. She noted Rodrigues’ significant progress and willingness to learn, underscoring her consistent improvement in every game. Kapp’s observations shed light on the team’s collective development and unity under Rodrigues’ guidance.

As Delhi Capitals aim to break their streak of being WPL runners-up for three consecutive seasons, Kapp emphasized the significance of their route to the final through the Eliminator. Citing a trend where teams winning the Eliminator ultimately clinch the title, Kapp remains optimistic about their chances. She highlighted the unique challenges posed by the varying pitches and expressed confidence that their hard-fought journey could culminate in a championship victory.
