Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has revealed a two-week training initiative for officials and staff engaged in Goods and Services Tax (GST) administration. The program aims to enhance the skills and knowledge of departmental officers to improve the efficiency of GST administration. Conducted in partnership with the National Academy of Customs, Indirect Taxes and Narcotics (NACIN), the training sessions will cover various aspects of GST, including tax fundamentals, registration, returns, and enforcement procedures.
The Chief Minister emphasized the evolving nature of tax administration, which now integrates technology, law, investigation, and public service. She highlighted the importance of continuous capacity building for officers to adapt to the changing landscape of tax administration. The training program, scheduled from June 15 to June 26, will include sessions on GST basics, tax collection, valuation, input tax credit, and compliance with GST regulations.
Participants in the program will receive comprehensive training on GST-related topics such as supply chain management, e-way bills, tax payments, audits, and refunds. Practical sessions on GST Network operations, including return filing and registration processes, will also be conducted to enhance officers’ skills. The training will encompass various legal provisions and procedures related to investigations, enforcement, and dispute resolution in tax matters.
