Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta expressed her admiration for Prime Minister Narendra Modi, citing him as her motivation for serving the people. At an event marking the BJP-led Delhi government’s first anniversary, she highlighted projects worth Rs 250 crore initiated in her Shalimar Bagh constituency over the past year. Gupta, addressing residents at the District Park in Pitampura, celebrated the return of a BJP government in Delhi after 27 years as a victory for public aspirations.
The Chief Minister, emotionally connecting with the residents, referred to them as her family and emphasized her enduring identity in Shalimar Bagh as “a sister, a daughter, and a neighbour.” She praised the coordination between the Central and Delhi governments, coupled with a strong financial framework, for propelling infrastructure development in the capital. Gupta reiterated her dedication to launching new schemes, continuous inaugurations, and accelerated development in the future, emphasizing that the journey has just commenced.
Gupta highlighted that the development journey transcends mere schemes, underscoring the collective effort driven by public trust, party workers’ dedication, and shared resolve. She interpreted the BJP’s mandate not only as a power shift but as a significant pivot towards development. Sharing a report card on her constituency, she revealed that development projects worth nearly Rs 250 crore have been initiated or completed in the Shalimar Bagh Assembly constituency alone, with several large-scale projects in progress.
The Chief Minister outlined upcoming initiatives such as the proposed Rs 5,000 crore elevated road along the Munak Canal, canal-side beautification, modern auditoriums, model schools, community halls, an expanded Ayurvedic hospital, upgraded mother-and-child care centers, and new sports complexes as transformative steps shaping the future. She also emphasized the extensive improvements in roads, drains, street lighting, parks, and markets, ensuring development reaches every household. Referring to infrastructural advancements like flyovers, roads, Metro expansion, and electric buses, Gupta envisioned Delhi’s progression towards a modern, clean, and environmentally sustainable future.
