Chief Minister Gupta announced measures to promote fuel conservation and public transport, aligning with PM Modi’s appeal to the nation. She emphasized the need for a collective effort towards energy conservation and urged Delhi residents to join in this initiative.
In response to PM Modi’s plea for self-reliance and financial discipline, Chief Minister Gupta announced restrictions on the number of vehicles for government operations. She, along with other officials, pledged to prioritize carpooling and public transport to reduce fuel consumption. Encouraging citizens to support domestic products, PM Modi emphasized the significance of ‘Vocal for Local’ as a mass movement to strengthen local industries and reduce dependence on imports.
PM Modi also addressed the impact of gold purchases, urging restraint on non-essential spending during the current global situation. He emphasized the need to reduce reliance on petrol and diesel, advocating for public transport, electric vehicles, and shared mobility options. Additionally, he suggested promoting domestic tourism and cultural destinations for weddings and holidays to minimize foreign exchange outflow.
