Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta honored Veer Bal Diwas at Thyagaraj Stadium, paying tribute to the Sahibzadas of Guru Gobind Singh. A laser and light show at Purana Qila vividly portrayed the heroic tale of the Sahibzadas through a captivating blend of light and sound. Gupta emphasized the importance of such presentations in conveying historical chapters to the youth effectively and emotionally.
The event, attended by Cabinet Minister Ashish Sood, Manjinder Singh Sirsa, officials, students, and citizens, featured Gatka performances, a 270-degree projection on Veer Bal Diwas, student-created reels, and patriotic performances by the Shillong Chamber Choir. Gupta praised the Sahibzadas’ courage and devotion, highlighting their unparalleled example of sacrifice and faith at a young age. She underlined the significance of December 26 being recognized as Veer Bal Diwas by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, enabling the youth to draw inspiration from these true heroes.
Gupta emphasized the importance of instilling courage, self-confidence, and moral strength in the youth for a nation’s future. The Delhi Government’s initiatives aim to connect young citizens with India’s rich past, fostering fearless and responsible individuals inspired by the Sahibzadas’ ideals. Activities organized by the Delhi Government at various levels focused on familiarizing students and citizens with the Sahibzadas’ sacrifice, valor, and devotion, promoting themes like nation-building and a developed India.
