Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta participated in the 8th convocation of Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women (IGDTUW) on Thursday, emphasizing the role of empowered women in shaping the nation’s future. She expressed the Delhi government’s commitment to advancing education, skills, technology, and research. Gupta highlighted the transformative impact of education and skills on women’s lives and their contribution to societal progress.

The Chief Minister underlined that a convocation signifies not just the culmination of academic pursuits but the commencement of a new journey. She motivated students to embrace curiosity, innovation, and responsibility, utilizing their knowledge and technical expertise for the betterment of society and the country. The event was graced by Delhi Cabinet Minister Ashish Sood, IGDTUW Vice Chancellor Ranjana Jha, faculty members, parents, and a large student presence.

Gupta commended the graduating students for their dedication, hard work, and the realization of their aspirations. She emphasized that these 1,181 students are not just receiving degrees but are stepping into roles as future leaders who will influence society and the nation through their skills, knowledge, and leadership qualities. The Chief Minister acknowledged the impact of national initiatives like Digital India, Atmanirbhar Bharat, Startup India, and Skill India in fostering innovation, research, and entrepreneurship among the youth.

Highlighting the university’s alignment with these initiatives, Gupta emphasized its significant contribution to women’s empowerment and the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047. She praised India’s strides in women’s empowerment, transitioning from initiatives like ‘Beti Bachao’ to ‘Beti Padhao’ and now ‘Beti Badhao.’ Encouraging students to continue progressing beyond academic achievements, she urged them to balance their career aspirations, family responsibilities, and national expectations. The Chief Minister stressed the emergence of women as leaders in the development landscape.
