Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta recently oversaw the city’s water management strategy for the upcoming summer months. Emphasizing the importance of a consistent and sustainable water supply, she also highlighted the need for long-term solutions to address any shortages. During a meeting at the Secretariat, the Chief Minister monitored the progress of key water projects and instructed officials to ensure no disruptions in supply during peak demand.

Highlighting the government’s proactive stance, Chief Minister Gupta mentioned the focus on both immediate relief measures and sustainable solutions to combat recurring water shortages in Delhi. The meeting, attended by Water Minister Parvesh Verma and other senior officials, aimed to ensure efficient water distribution across the capital.

In preparation for the summer season, the Delhi government has ramped up monitoring efforts at all levels to maintain a smooth and equitable water supply. Key water treatment plants have been directed to operate at full capacity, with additional measures in place to monitor water quality and address shortages in specific areas.

Chief Minister Gupta outlined various improvements implemented this year, including an increase in operational tubewells, water tanker deployment, fixed supply points, and filling hydrants. Special attention has been given to water-scarce areas, with tailored deployment of tankers and detailed planning at the constituency level to streamline water distribution.

To enhance grievance redressal, the government has reinforced the system with 24×7 helplines, direct complaint routing, and enhanced feedback mechanisms. Additionally, water emergency centers have been set up across the city to swiftly address supply-related issues. Chief Minister Gupta also urged officials to expedite efforts to boost water supply capacity and commission new water treatment plants to meet the city’s growing demands.
