Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta will spearhead the ‘Maa Yamuna Tat Swachhata Abhiyan’ at 28 ghats along the river on Sunday. The campaign aims to promote voluntary service and enhance efforts for a cleaner Yamuna. Ministers, MPs, and volunteers will join the initiative, emphasizing the cultural and environmental significance of the river.
Chief Minister Gupta highlighted that the cleanliness of the Yamuna is a collective responsibility involving both the government and citizens. The campaign seeks to engage people and foster a continuous public movement for river conservation. Various locations, including Chilla Village Ghat and Nizamuddin Ghat, will witness simultaneous cleanup activities involving social and voluntary organizations.
Around 500 organizations and numerous volunteers are expected to participate in the extensive cleanup campaign. Notable figures, including MPs and public representatives, will also be present at different sites to encourage broad public support and engagement.
