Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta paid tribute to the victims of the tragic fire at Hauz Rani in Malviya Nagar and the building collapse in Saidulajab, Saket. She announced a compensation of Rs 10 lakh for each victim’s family and Rs 2 lakh for the injured. The Chief Minister recognized the bravery of citizens, police, and rescue workers who risked their lives to save others.
At a special event at the Delhi Secretariat, Gupta awarded commendation certificates and Rs 21,000 to these courageous individuals. Malviya Nagar MLA Satish Upadhyay and Chhatarpur MLA Kartar Singh Tanwar were present as distinguished guests. During the ceremony, she particularly acknowledged Riyazuddin Mansoori for his quick thinking during the Hauz Rani fire, where he used mattresses to save lives.
A two-minute silence was observed to honor the deceased in both incidents. Those recognized for their efforts during the Saket building collapse included various officials and residents. The Chief Minister also praised individuals involved in the rescue operations during the Malviya Nagar fire.
