Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta met Lieutenant Governor T.S. Sandhu ahead of a special Delhi Assembly session scheduled for April 28. The session aims to address the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam along with other legislative matters. The agenda includes discussions on women’s reservation and a resolution condemning the defeat of an amendment bill in the Lok Sabha.
The upcoming session will also cover an obituary reference and the presentation of financial accounts of the Delhi government. CM Gupta is set to move a government resolution regarding the implementation of the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam. Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta has summoned the Fifth Session of the Eighth Legislative Assembly with the approval of Lieutenant Governor Sandhu.
In a procedural move, Speaker Gupta announced the prorogation of the Fourth Session of the Eighth Legislative Assembly, marking the official conclusion of the extended session. The Delhi Legislative Assembly Secretariat has made necessary arrangements to ensure the smooth functioning of the proceedings. Security measures have been heightened at the Old Secretariat in light of recent bomb threats to ensure the safety of all members and staff during the session.
