A Delhi court has extended the judicial custody of two accused individuals in the NEET-UG 2026 paper leak case until July 8. The accused, P.V. Kulkarni and Shivaraj Motegaonkar, appeared before the Rouse Avenue Court following the completion of their previous 14-day judicial custody. The court has ordered that both accused individuals remain in judicial custody until the specified date.
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has identified Kulkarni, a retired Chemistry professor from Maharashtra’s Latur, as the alleged mastermind behind the paper leak network. According to the CBI, Kulkarni misused his access to leak examination content to selected candidates through special coaching sessions in Pune. Motegaonkar, the director of Latur-based RCC Coaching Institute, is accused of playing a significant role in disseminating the leaked paper.
Investigators claim that Motegaonkar received examination questions and answers nearly 10 days before the NEET-UG 2026 examination. The CBI alleges that Motegaonkar procured the leaked paper through Kulkarni and another co-accused individual, Manisha Mandhare, who is suspected of involvement in the Biology paper leak. The CBI’s investigation has led to the arrest of 13 individuals connected to the alleged network involved in obtaining and circulating NEET-UG question papers before the examination.
