Delhi Education Minister Ashish Sood has instructed schools to prioritize academic quality, digital infrastructure, and overall student development. He emphasized the importance of efficient resource utilization during a virtual meeting with school heads and principals. Sood highlighted the Delhi government’s efforts to enhance the education system through “Tangible Learning Outcomes.”
In alignment with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s virtual interaction initiative, Sood conducted a detailed video conference with school leaders from various districts. He urged all principals to familiarize themselves with virtual meeting systems, which will continue in the coming months. Sood also stressed the need for a clear protocol and Standard Operating Procedure for smooth virtual communication.
The Education Minister underscored the government’s focus on bolstering digital infrastructure in government schools to support students’ holistic development. He outlined the implementation of digital tools and technologies to elevate academic assistance and set new educational standards. Additionally, Sood mandated schools to adopt “Five Best Practices,” covering areas like pollution control, water conservation, and mental health awareness.
Sood announced the mandatory “NIPUN” certification for all schools by 2028, emphasizing proficiency in reading and numeracy. He also directed schools to promote specific sports to enhance students’ physical health and sporting abilities. Furthermore, the Delhi government is advancing AI-based learning systems in government schools to streamline administrative tasks and reduce teacher workload.
During the meeting, Sood advised teachers to balance practical and theoretical components in student learning, aligning with the Central Board of Secondary Education guidelines. He highlighted the importance of addressing both aspects to improve students’ overall academic performance.
