Delhi Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa rejected claims by the Opposition that the government was avoiding a pollution discussion in the Assembly. He challenged AAP legislators to engage in a meaningful debate on the issue the following day. Sirsa emphasized the government’s readiness for a debate on pollution control efforts over the past 11 months.
In response to the Opposition, Sirsa highlighted that under the BJP government’s 11-month tenure, Delhi experienced the highest number of clean air days in over a decade, a milestone achieved in 2025. He criticized the Aam Aadmi Party for evading substantial discussions and accused them of walking out of the House, anticipating a similar response the next day regarding the pollution debate.
Sirsa criticized AAP MLAs for wearing expensive masks worth Rs 2 lakh each during a recent Assembly session, which he described as a mere act of theatrics. He accused the party of misleading the public and avoiding accountability. The Minister urged AAP leaders to engage in a constructive debate rather than shying away from the issue of pollution control.
