Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has directed the formation of District-Level Coordination Committees (DLCCs) in all 13 districts to tackle waterlogging effectively. These committees aim to prevent waterlogging and reduce its impact by enhancing coordination among different departments and agencies to ensure public safety during the monsoon. The committees are responsible for implementing preventive measures, monitoring monsoon preparedness strategies, and ensuring the availability of necessary measures to prevent and manage waterlogging.

The District Magistrate of each district will lead the District-Level Coordination Committees, as per an order from the Additional Chief Secretary of the Irrigation and Flood Control Department. These committees will include officials from various departments such as the Municipal Corporation, Irrigation and Flood Control Department, Public Works Department, Delhi Jal Board, Delhi Development Authority, and the Traffic Police. Representatives from power distribution companies BSES and TPDDL will also be part of the committees, with the Additional District Magistrate serving as the Member Secretary.

Under the guidance of Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, the District-Level Coordination Committees will oversee the effective implementation of district-level monsoon preparedness measures. They will ensure adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) set by the State-Level Coordination Committee (SLCC) and promote coordination among departments responsible for managing roads and drains. Additionally, the committees will monitor activities like cleaning drains, deploying pumps, and inspecting waterlogging-prone areas to address issues promptly.

These committees will also focus on identifying vulnerable waterlogging-prone locations, monitoring on-ground preparedness, and resolving issues in a timely manner. Their role includes facilitating interdepartmental coordination, overseeing the execution of SOPs, and ensuring effective management of waterlogging during and after the monsoon season.
