Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta announced the approval of a Rs 264 crore proposal to renovate and modernize 75 CM SHRI Schools for improved infrastructure, safety, and facilities. The initiative includes comprehensive repairs, upgrades, and the introduction of new amenities to enhance the learning environment. The recent Expenditure Finance Committee meeting chaired by the Chief Minister greenlit this significant investment in school infrastructure.
The focus of the government is not only on repairing school buildings but also on creating a conducive learning atmosphere that offers students safe, clean, modern, and inspiring campuses. The project entails redesigning and beautifying school entrance gates in a contemporary style, featuring the new CM SHRI logo alongside the school’s name. Additionally, measures will be taken to address seepage and dampness, waterproofing, painting, repairing plaster, constructing or fixing boundary walls, upgrading toilets, drinking water facilities, sewerage and drainage systems, sports facilities, rainwater harvesting systems, multipurpose halls, and other necessary repairs.
Chief Minister Gupta highlighted that the electrical works will include fire safety enhancements, replacement of defective LED lights, ceiling fans, exhaust fans, and the PA system for effective communication of announcements and emergency information across the campus. The project also includes installing high-mast lighting, air conditioning, stage lighting in multipurpose halls and computer labs, LED signage, CM SHRI logo-bearing LED boards, RO water coolers, upgraded electrical panels, new wiring, power points, LAN points, child-friendly accessibility features, CCTV systems, compound lighting, and sports ground upgrades.
