The Delhi government has initiated the operation of Route No 740C between Dichaon Kalan Depot and Anand Vihar ISBT to enhance public transport connectivity. This new route aims to provide better accessibility for residents of West Delhi and establish a direct link to a crucial transport hub in the National Capital Region. Transport Minister Pankaj Kumar Singh highlighted the government’s commitment to enhancing public transport services for the convenience of citizens under Chief Minister Rekha Gupta’s leadership.
The introduction of Route 740C is part of the government’s efforts to improve accessibility for residents of growing residential areas in West Delhi. This route will pass through key locations such as Baprola, Hastsal, Vikas Nagar, Uttam Nagar, Janakpuri, Dhaula Kuan, Central Delhi, ITO, and Anand Vihar. Designed to cater to daily commuters, students, working professionals, and senior citizens, the route aims to offer smooth and affordable travel options.
The newly launched service will operate between Dichaon Kalan Depot and Anand Vihar ISBT, providing regular services starting at 6:00 a.m. with subsequent buses running at approximately 45-minute intervals. This schedule ensures convenient connectivity for residents and daily commuters along the corridor. The route is expected to benefit residents of Dichaon Kalan, Baprola, Vikas Nagar, Shiv Vihar, Hastsal, and nearby areas by improving access to employment centers, educational institutions, healthcare facilities, and major interchange points across the city.
The direct connectivity of Route 740C to Anand Vihar ISBT and the Anand Vihar Railway Terminal is a significant advantage for the Purvanchal community residing in West Delhi. This connectivity will particularly benefit passengers traveling to Bihar and eastern Uttar Pradesh, offering them a convenient and cost-effective travel option. The Delhi government’s focus remains on expanding and strengthening the public transport network to enhance mobility, reduce travel time, and improve the quality of life for citizens.
