The Delhi government, under Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, is gearing up to introduce the Har Ghar Tiranga 2026 campaign before Independence Day. This initiative aims to foster patriotism, national unity, and public involvement through Self-Help Groups (SHGs). The campaign goes beyond flag hoisting, emphasizing the reinforcement of patriotic values and unity among citizens.

Self-Help Groups in Delhi will play a crucial role in the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign. Approximately two lakh national flags will be manufactured by eligible SHGs, which will be utilized as part of the initiative. The government plans to distribute over 15 lakh national flags throughout the city to promote a sense of national pride and unity.

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta highlighted the government’s dedication to ensuring the campaign’s success by engaging all segments of society and creating avenues for the economic empowerment of SHGs. By involving SHGs in flag production, the government aims to integrate public welfare programs with livelihood opportunities, providing a sense of contribution and pride to the participants.

The involvement of SHGs in producing national flags is aligned with the government’s strategy of connecting welfare schemes with livelihood prospects. Through the State Urban Livelihood Mission (SULM), the Delhi Government has identified and organized eligible SHGs to produce around two lakh national flags. SULM focuses on enhancing the livelihoods of the urban poor by promoting SHGs and facilitating skill development, entrepreneurship, and self-employment.

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta emphasized the government’s goal of advancing development and public participation simultaneously, underscoring the importance of community engagement and sustainable livelihood opportunities.
