The Delhi government, led by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, is swiftly working to offer up-to-date digital property records to residents of Lal Dora and Abadi villages in the capital. The initiative aims to bring transparency and security to property ownership through the SVAMITVA scheme. This scheme involves conducting a thorough property survey, creating digital records, and issuing Smart Property Cards to eligible owners.

CM Gupta highlighted the historical challenges faced by residents due to the lack of systematic property records in Lal Dora areas. By embracing modern technology, the government seeks to establish a clear identity for each property, ensuring transparency and organization in property records. The distribution of Smart Property Cards to beneficiaries will be accompanied by a significant event to mark the occasion.

Under the SVAMITVA scheme, 48 villages have already been included through an agreement with the Survey of India. Surveys have been completed in 30 villages, with final Property Cards already prepared. The process of issuing Smart Property Cards, integrating digital signatures, and resolving property disputes is nearing completion. Notably, a majority of surveyed properties are dispute-free, with issuance of Smart Property Cards already underway for these properties.

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta emphasized that the initiative transcends traditional paper records, focusing on a modern digital framework. The process involves demarcating Lal Dora boundaries, conducting aerial drone surveys, and ground verification by Revenue Department officials. The Smart Plastic SVAMITVA Property Cards, which will be issued to citizens, are designed to meet UIDAI standards and will contain essential property details for secure digital documentation.
