The Delhi High Court has granted regular bail to Anwar Khan alias Chacha, an accused in the 2024 gym trainer Nadir Shah murder case. The court observed a lack of clear allegations implicating him in the crime and questioned the prosecution’s version of events.
An FIR registered at Greater Kailash police station implicated Anwar Khan under various sections of the law. The case involves the alleged murder of gym owner Nadir Shah, with details pointing to the involvement of several individuals in the crime.
The court expressed surprise at certain aspects of the case, including the role of a witness who allegedly transported the shooters. Despite being in close contact with the accused, this witness was not named as an accused in the case.
Justice Kathpalia highlighted the absence of specific allegations indicating the accused’s awareness of the criminal intent behind the individuals brought to his residence. Due to this lack of evidence, the court found no justification to continue depriving the accused of his liberty.
The Delhi High Court’s decision to grant bail to the accused was based on the insufficient evidence linking him to the crime. The court emphasized that its ruling would not impact the ongoing trial and directed the accused to be released on bail upon meeting certain conditions.
