After the Delhi High Court upheld the Centre’s suspension of Telegram until June 22, students preparing for the NEET-UG 2026 exam expressed concerns about the ban affecting their access to study materials and practice questions. The ban, implemented due to alleged paper leaks, has disrupted the flow of previous year papers, self-study material, and teaching content that students used to receive through the messaging app.
With the NEET-UG 2026 re-examination scheduled for June 21 following the paper leak incident on May 3, students are facing challenges in their exam preparations due to the temporary suspension of Telegram. While some students acknowledge the government’s efforts to prevent paper leaks, they also point out that other platforms like Discord, Snapchat, and WhatsApp could pose similar risks if not addressed.
Despite the High Court’s decision supporting the Centre’s move to suspend Telegram, students are calling for more permanent solutions to prevent future incidents of paper leaks. They emphasize the need for comprehensive measures to ensure the integrity of competitive exams and to avoid disruptions like the current ban on Telegram services.
