Delhi Lieutenant Governor T.S. Sandhu has released Tapasya Raghav, IAS, Special Secretary (H&FW), from her duties in the city government. Raghav, who held various positions including Project Director (CATS) and CEO of the State Health Agency, will now serve as Deputy Secretary in the Department of Higher Education on Central deputation for four years.
The decision was made in accordance with a circular issued by Deputy Secretary Jitendra Kumar Arora, following Government of India directives. Raghav’s new role comes after her tenure overseeing Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission and other responsibilities in Delhi.
Following a recent fire incident in Malviya Nagar, LG Sandhu led an emergency meeting to enhance fire safety measures in Delhi. A comprehensive plan has been devised under the Home Department, GNCTD, with a month-long enforcement drive starting soon to ensure strict compliance in establishments like hotels, guesthouses, and coaching centers.
The initiative will involve thorough inspections and audits to enforce fire safety regulations, with the Chief Secretary and Commissioner of Police overseeing the process to maintain accountability and safety standards.
