Delhi Lt Governor T.S. Sandhu pleasantly surprised citizens by taking a ride on the Delhi Metro, engaging warmly with commuters and discussing city issues. Sandhu used a smart card to enter the station, posed for pictures, and traveled from Saket to Vasant Vihar station, interacting with Metro staff and people.
Sandhu later visited the Kalindi Kunj banks of the Yamuna for an inspection to address the froth issue. He shared his experience on social media, emphasizing the importance of assessing the situation firsthand and seeking sustainable solutions with experts.
A political controversy arose when the Delhi government proposed purchasing two “VIP inspection boats” for monitoring the Yamuna River, drawing criticism for allegedly neglecting pollution concerns. Responding to the backlash, BJP legislator Mohan Singh Bisht attributed the river’s pollution to long-standing negligence by past city administrations.
