The Delhi Police apprehended Sunil (32), a proclaimed offender evading trial under Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code. Sunil had been declared a proclaimed offender on August 27, 2024, in connection with FIR No. 301/2020 at BHD Nagar police station. The arrest was part of a special drive by the Dwarka district police to locate proclaimed offenders and absconding criminals.
A team led by Inspector Harish Kumar, under the supervision of the ACP (Operations), arrested Sunil based on a tip-off received while deployed in the Najafgarh area. Sunil was found near the Khaira Mod Tempo Stand in Delhi and was subsequently apprehended under Section 35.1(D) of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS).
Sunil, residing in East Krishna Vihar, Gopal Nagar, Phase-II, Delhi, has a history of involvement in two criminal cases. His arrest is aimed at ensuring the smooth functioning of the justice delivery system. Legal proceedings in this case are ongoing.
