Delhi Police apprehended a robber responsible for stealing an Apple iPhone-17 from a vehicle near Connaught Place. The stolen phone was recovered from the suspect. The accused was caught by the Mandir Marg Police Station team after a prompt investigation.
Md. Jafar, son of Noor Mohammad, reported the incident. Jafar, who runs an event management company named “ZK Group India,” was robbed while attending a phone call near R.K. Ashram Metro Station. The theft occurred between 9.35 p.m. and 9.40 p.m. on May 16.
A case under Section 303(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita was registered at Police Station Mandir Marg on May 17. To solve the case, a specialized police team was formed under the supervision of the SHO of Mandir Marg police station. The team, including SI Arvind Kumar and others, analyzed CCTV footage and identified the suspect as Mohit Manav.
Mohit Manav, a resident of Sadar Bazar, Delhi, was arrested on May 18 in the R.K. Ashram area. The stolen iPhone-17 and the clothes worn during the theft, as seen in CCTV footage, were recovered. The accused has a criminal record and is known as a “Bad Character” at Police Station Sadar Bazar.
