The Central District Police of Delhi made a significant breakthrough by apprehending three notorious absconding robbers linked to chokehold robbery incidents. These arrests followed a tip-off, leading to the swift capture of the accused individuals. During interrogation, it was disclosed that a stolen mobile phone had been sold for Rs 2,000. The arrested suspects have a history of multiple criminal activities and efforts are ongoing to recover the stolen phone.
On April 30, Police Station Nabi Karim received information about a knifepoint robbery. The complainant reported being intercepted by a group of boys while on his way to the New Delhi Railway Station. They robbed him of Rs 10,000 and his Samsung M-14 mobile phone at knifepoint. The complainant, aided by PCR staff, managed to apprehend a minor boy involved in the robbery who was still in the vicinity. A case was registered, and an investigation commenced under relevant sections.
A dedicated police team, led by ASI Sanjeev, Head Constable Nitin, and Constable Sanjay, was formed to trace and apprehend the absconding suspects. Four individuals, including the minor boy “G” alias “P,” were arrested in connection with the case. The police team conducted thorough inquiries and inspected the crime scene but found no CCTV footage. Efforts based on information from the minor boy led to the arrest of the remaining suspects near Shiela Cinema.
The accused confessed to their involvement in the robbery during interrogation. They admitted to selling the stolen phone for Rs 2,000 and using the proceeds, along with the robbed cash, to purchase intoxicating substances. The arrested individuals have prior criminal records in various police stations across Delhi. Further investigations are ongoing to delve into the matter.
