The Delhi Police apprehended two suspects involved in multiple theft cases in Dwarka and seized various stolen items, including an air conditioner, mobile phones, scooties, and a motorcycle. The arrests were made by the Police Station Mohan Garden team after investigating a burglary case reported on April 29. An online e-FIR was registered under Section 305 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita following a complaint by Shajad Ali about his stolen air conditioner.
A special police team, led by Inspector Mukesh Antil and ACP Najafgarh Raj Kumar, was formed to investigate the case. Through the examination of CCTV footage and inputs from informers, the police conducted raids in different areas, leading to the capture of the two accused individuals. The suspects, identified as Md. Mehfooj and Sonu Singh Rawat, confessed to stealing the air conditioner and other items during interrogation.
Further questioning revealed additional stolen goods, such as mobile phones, scooties, and a motorcycle linked to theft cases in Mohan Garden and Nihal Vihar police stations. The arrests helped resolve eight pending cases related to burglary, theft, and vehicle lifting from 2024 to 2026. Records show that Md. Mehfooj and Sonu Singh Rawat had prior criminal involvements, prompting ongoing investigations to determine their potential involvement in other theft and burglary cases in the vicinity.
