The Delhi Police uncovered an illegal LPG hoarding and black-marketing operation in Mahipalpur, leading to the arrest of three individuals. The raid seized 74 LPG cylinders, including domestic and commercial units, along with a Tata Ace Gold vehicle and equipment used for illegal activities. The accused, hailing from Bihar and residing in Delhi for over two decades, were involved in this illicit trade for about three years.
A dedicated team, under the leadership of Inspector Ram Kumar, conducted the operation based on specific intelligence inputs. The arrested individuals, Krishna, Dinesh Sahu, and Mithilesh, were found storing and trading LPG cylinders without proper authorization. They confessed to selling cylinders without bills to local residents to maximize profits, using illegal methods like transferring gas between cylinders to manipulate supplies.
The crackdown on LPG hoarding in Delhi comes amidst reports of a gas shortage, with recent operations seizing thousands of cylinders from various locations. Authorities are acting on complaints of distributors diverting LPG cylinders for illegal sales in the black market.
