In a significant development, the AGS/Crime Branch of Delhi Police conducted coordinated raids in Palam and Dwarka areas, uncovering a massive illegal operation involving unauthorized storage and refilling of LPG cylinders. The crackdown led to the discovery of 137 LPG cylinders and refilling equipment, highlighting serious safety norm violations and regulatory breaches.
To prevent hoarding and black marketing of LPG cylinders, a specialized team, including Inspector Krishan Kumar and other officers, was formed. Acting on specific intelligence, the team raided locations in Dwarka and Palam, where they found stored cylinders and vehicles loaded with cylinders, leading to the apprehension of several individuals.
During the operation, 77 LPG cylinders were found at JJ Colony, Sector-7, Dwarka, with additional seizures made at two more locations. The recovery included 25 cylinders from a parked tempo and 35 cylinders from a premises in Raj Nagar-II, Palam Colony. The individuals present at these locations failed to provide valid documents or explanations for the large number of cylinders.
The accused, residents of Delhi, were found to be involved in illegal storage, refilling, and tampering of LPG cylinders for black market activities. The recovered cylinders were seized in the presence of Food and Supply Officer (FSO), Palam-Dwarka, and the case property was handed over for further action. Investigations revealed the unauthorized diversion and storage of LPG cylinders for unlawful gains, leading to the registration of a case under relevant sections.
