The Delhi Police’s South District swiftly solved a cab carjacking and robbery case within a day, leading to the arrest of three suspects and the recovery of the stolen taxi, valuables, and the weapon allegedly used in the crime. The breakthrough was credited to the efforts of the Police Station Fatehpur Beri team, including Sub-Inspectors Nasib Singh, Vikas Yadav, and Ravi Raghav, along with other officers.
The investigation, initiated based on a cab driver’s complaint, involved a comprehensive approach combining technical analysis and fieldwork. The team, under the leadership of SHO Inspector Rajesh Sharma and ACP Mehrauli’s supervision, swiftly acted on the case. FIR No. 287/2026 was registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), leading to the analysis of CCTV footage, ride-booking data, and multiple raids at various locations.
Through sustained technical surveillance and field operations, the police successfully identified and apprehended all three suspects within 24 hours. Additionally, they recovered the stolen taxi, the driver’s belongings, and the knife allegedly used in the crime. The investigation revealed that the accused targeted cab drivers late at night by booking rides through a mobile app, then threatening and robbing them at knifepoint before fleeing the scene.
The arrested individuals, identified as Mohd. Kaif, Junaid Ali, and Mohd Kaif, had no prior criminal records. The recovered items included the Maruti Suzuki Dzire taxi, a knife, mobile phones, wallet, identity documents, and other important papers belonging to the victim.
