In a swift operation, the Anand Vihar Police Station team in Delhi’s Shahdara district solved a mobile snatching case within a day of filing the FIR. They arrested both suspects and recovered the stolen Samsung S25 mobile phone and the motorcycle used in the crime. The incident occurred near Cross River Mall in Shahdara when two individuals on a motorcycle snatched the victim’s phone late at night.
The police, with help from the public and quick response, caught one suspect, Asif, at the scene. The other suspect fled with the stolen phone. A dedicated team from PS Anand Vihar used various methods like technical surveillance and CCTV footage analysis to track down the absconding suspect, Imran alias Nagga. They arrested him near the DM Office at Nand Nagri Gol Chakkar.
During the investigation, the police recovered the stolen mobile phone and the motorcycle, which was found to be a stolen vehicle itself. The motorcycle was linked to another case registered at PS Sarai Rohilla. Imran alias Nagga has a criminal record with over 18 cases, while Asif has been involved in more than 25 criminal cases in Delhi/NCR. Deputy Commissioner of Police, Shahdara, Rajendra Prasad Meena, urged the public to be cautious with their mobile phones in public places and report any suspicious activities promptly.
